The “Juncker for President” campaign bus is on the roll

Brussels, 14 April 2014

The EPP candidate for President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker hit the road in the new “Juncker for President” campaign bus on 8 April when he attended events in Nivelles and Antwerp.

In Nivelles, Jean-Claude Juncker was received by the leader of the Centre démocrate humaniste (CDH), Benoît Lutgen and by Claude Rolin, lead candidate of the CDH party for the European elections. Jean-Claude Juncker visited a factory and held a press point along with the two CDH leaders.

In the afternoon, the EPP candidate headed to Antwerp, where he was hosted by the Christian Democrat and Flemish party (CD&V). Jean-Claude Juncker met Marianne Thyssen, leading candidate of CD&V for the European elections; Ivo Belet and Steven Vanackere, both candidates for the European elections; Kris Peeters, Minister-President of Flanders; Hilde Crevits, Flemish Minister of Transportation and Public Works; and Wouter Beke, President of CD&V. During his visit, Mr Juncker toured the Antwerp port -the second largest in Europe- and inaugurated a station of Cambio, the carsharing company in Antwerp’s Green Qaurter.
